COVID-19 Deaths among BOP Inmates in June 2020

As of this post, the BOP reports that 94 inmates have died of COVID-19. Below are some of the basic statistics regarding the 18 inmates that were reported as dead due to COVID-19 in June, 2020. A press release is available on the BOP website for each inmate death.

  1. 6/1/20 – 56 yo, Lompoc, no conditions, in custody since August 2019 for 108 months for CP
    1. Tested positive May 2, 2020
    2. May 6 had rapid pulse and difficulty breathing, ventilator May 8

 

  1. 6/1/20 – 74 yo, Butner, long-term, pre-existing conditions, in custody since August 2019 for 12 months for felon in possession of firearm
    1. Evaluated for other things May 10
    2. Tested positive May 19

 

  1. 6/2/20 – 62 yo, Devens, long-term, pre-existing conditions, in custody since 2007 for mental health commitment
    1. May 20 test positive, May 25 respiratory failure and failure to maintain oxygen

 

  1. 6/3/20 – 74 yo, Butner, long-term, pre-existing conditions, in custody since 2008 for 180-months RICO
    1. May 20 evaluated for hypoxia

 

  1. 6/4/20 – 56 yo, Butner, long-term, pre-existing conditions, in custody since July 2019 for 144 months for armed bank robbery
    1. Shortness of breath, hypoxia

 

  1. 6/3/20 – 48 yo, Lexington, no conditions, in custody since May 2013 for 360 months for marijuana
    1. Tested positive May 13, 2020, isolated
    2. May 29 placed on ventilator

 

  1. 5/26/2020 – 50 yo, Yazoo City, long-term, pre-existing conditions, in custody since July 2019 for 135 months for heroin and firearm
    1. Found unresponsive May 26th

 

  1. 6/5/20 – 77 yo, Butner, long-term, pre-existing conditions, in custody since December 2014 for 120 months for CP

 

  1. 6/9/20 – 69 yo, Lexington, long-term pre-existing conditions, in custody since July 2017 for 300 months for meth and firearms
    1. Tested positive May 7, 2020 after shortness of breath, put on ventilator the next day

 

  1. 6/4/20 – 43 yo, Yazoo City Low, pre-existing condition, in custody since March 2019 for 168 months for crack distribution
    1. Tested positive April 28 after being evaluated April 27

 

  1. 6/10/20 – 75 yo, Fort Worth, long-term, pre-existing condition, in custody since February 2017 for 360 months for child pornography
    1. Tested positive May 1, 2020

 

  1. 6/13/20 – 61 yo, Butner, long-term, pre-existing condition, in custody since June 2014 for 151 months for child porn

 

  1. 6/13/20 – 85 yo, Butner, long-term, pre-existing medical conditions, in custody since January 2018 for 37 months for firearms and gambling

 

  1. 6/20/20 – 55 yo, Butner, long-term, pre-existing conditions, in custody since September 2015 for 140 months for sexual abuse

 

  1. 6/21/20 – 80 yo, Terminal Island, long-term, pre-existing conditions since November 2019 for 174 months for illicit sexual conduct in foreign places

 

  1. Sent to local hospital for fever, cough, shortness of breath on APRIL 21, tested positive, placed on ventilator on May 2, returned to Terminal Island’s infirmary on June 10, 2020, died June 21

 

  1. 6/23/20 – 55 yo, Butner, long-term, pre-existing conditions, in custody since April 2015 for 360-month CP offense
    1. Tested positive May 27, symptoms of shortness of breath

 

  1. 6/24/20 – 66 yo, Butner, long-term, pre-existing conditions, in custody since April 2008 for 300-month CP offense
    1. Tested positive May 27, symptoms of shortness of breath

 

  1. 6/28/20 – 68 yo, FDC Miami, long-term, pre-existing conditions in custody since April 2020 pending trial for intent to distribute cocaine
